Beautiful and isolated location was a nice retreat, but covid-19 changed the experience
There was a wide range of breakfast options, which was nice. The grounds are beautiful, and it was nice to see the peacocks and peahens walking about the property. The isolation away from the city centre added to the feel of being on a retreat, which enhanced the relaxation of my stay. The staff were quite friendly. Also enjoyed getting treatments at the Camelot Spa.
The covid-19 restrictions took away from the 4* rating in my opinion, particularly the lack of housekeeping for occupied rooms. I was initially told that fresh linen would be dropped off daily and that we would be switched to a clean room after 2 days (due to lack of housekeeping), but this did not happen. It was also disappointing not the be able to swim in the pool, which was also blamed on covid-19. Only one of the restaurants was open, presumably because of covid-19 restrictions was well, which was disappointing given that the hotel normally has many different restaurants each with distinct cuisines and dining experiences. It was also limiting not to be able to dine at the hotel restaurant in the evening, presumably because of the national covid-19 related curfew. While it is understandable that adjustments had to be made due to the pandemic, it does not seem fair or warranted that the price remain unaltered when so many changes seriously limit what guests are able to do at the hotel compared to the pre-corona era. The room mini-fridge is a bit old-fashioned, and did not readily cool down larger containers of fluids.

Pleasant
The rooms are quite big, the hotel is next to the conference centre, which is very convenient. Liked the fact that the plugs where next to the bed.
The hot breakfast needs a major improvement. Plus I was given a smoking room, and had to move to a different room. The hotel is getting outdated and things like bathrooms may need renovation. Didn't like the fact that the shower is in the tub. Also I had booked an airport shuttle for 8am the next morning and the driver was nowhere to be found. I found the lighting in the room not adequate.

Very Good
The location was great. The food was generous and tasty. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They gave us a great upgrade to a suite, that was of high standard. Will return to the hotel.
Due to Covid, there is no access to swimming pool area. On busy day, they need to increase support staff for the kitchen services. The initial room allocated for Booking.com is sub par. But they upgraded us to a much better room after we complained.
